Dear Friend,
I see you are in an abusive relationship, and I know the weight you carry. I know the careful calculations before speaking, the hope that flickers and refuses to die, the exhaustion of loving someone who makes you feel like you're losing yourself.
You are not imagining it. Trust the instinct that whispers something is wrong, even when you're told you're too sensitive, too dramatic. Your perception is not broken. The confusion you feel is a natural response to being told your reality doesn't exist.
The version of yourself you're trying to remember—the one who laughed easily, who is super fun and strong, who took up space without apologizing—she's still there. She hasn't been destroyed. She's been buried under criticism and control, but she exists.
I know you feel like you can change him; that if you just loved harder, everything would change. He’s not going to change no matter how hard you love, and it’s not your fault nor your responsibility. You are not responsible for another person's poor choices. You cannot love someone into wholeness while they break you into pieces.
Just know you are worth more than this. You can do better than this. Your life has value beyond what you provide to someone else. When you decide to walk away, you’ll be victorious.
With hope for you,
Someone who believes in your worth
